Decatur and Macon County Area Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $2,500 when a felony arrest is made as a result of the information that you provide. Crime Stoppers will also pay $500 or more for information that leads to an arrest on the Crime of the Week. Crime Stoppers only wants your information, not your name. The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.


On October 20th, 2023 Decatur Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of W. Cerro Gordo in reference to a theft. 

Officers were informed that sometime in the evening of October 19th or the early morning hours of October 20th an unknown suspect(s) stole a winch from this block.  This winch was a Cues brand, “A” frame style, that weighed close to 200lbs.
