On March 31st at approximately 5:00 am, Decatur Police Officers responded to the Wabash Depot Antique Center, located at 780 E. Cerro Gordo, in reference to a burglary. On Saturday, March 16th or Sunday, March 17th, the Ralph Rosser memorial fountain at Scovill Zoo was vandalized, when one or more individuals cut and stole copper tubing and rings from the water feature. The fountain is currently completely disabled until replacement of the tubing, PVC pipe, and copper rings at a cost of $6,486.00.

On February 18th at approximately 6:30am, a vehicle was stolen from a driveway in the 200 block of S. 22nd St. At approximately 9:00am the same day, the vehicle was found submerged in Lake Decatur, at the Nelson Park boat ramp with a brick depressing the accelerator. The vehicle was a 2004, dark blue in color, GMC Yukon with IL registration 10063DN, valued at $12,000. There are no suspect(s) at this time.

On May 5, 2008 at 2:30AM, Decatur Police officers were detailed to 643 S. Sycamore in reference to a subject down inside this home. When officers arrived, they located Robert W. Johnson, lying on his bedroom floor, deceased. Investigation showed Robert was murdered and died of a gunshot wound to his head. This case remains unsolved.

On October 27 at approximately 7:02 AM, a robbery to a person occurred at Dollar General located at 2922 N. Martin Luther King. The victim was approached by a subject in the parking lot and sprayed in the face with an unknown substance. The victim was then battered and knocked to the ground. Ultimately, the suspect fled with U.S. currency.
The suspect is described as unknown race, unknown sex, 600/husky build, wearing a dark green coat, black pants, gloves and a black ski mask with only the eyes cut out.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in locating Jermine Terrell Hubbert. He is a black male with a date of birth 10/22/86. His is 509 inches tall, weighing around 170 pounds.
On February 6, 2012 at 1:30 AM, Decatur Police Officers responded to The Night Owl Nightclub in reference to a shooting. The outcome of this incident was the shooting death of Tobias Jarrett. Further investigation into this incident, revealed that Jermine Hubbert was the person responsible for the shooting death of Tobias Jarrett. Jermine currently has an arrest warrant out of Macon County for first degree murder.

On July 22nd between 1:15 AM and 1:19AM, two armed robberies occurred in the 800 and 900 blocks of W. William. In both of these cases, the suspect pointed chrome colored revolver at the victims demanding their money. The suspect made away with items of value from both victims.
The suspect is described as a B/M, 600-604, 185-195, wearing dark colored jeans, a black t-shirt over a white t-shirt and a white mask covering his face with black circles around the eyes.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week. On May 17th officers responded to Kelly Construction, located at 3536 N 27th Street, in reference to a theft.
Surveillance footage shows on May 13th at 7:00 pm two subjects were on the property loading stainless steel ducts and several stainless steel rings on to the bed of a truck before driving off of the property. Over $11,000.00 worth of materials were stolen.
The suspect vehicle was an older model white flatbed truck with a trailer attached. The suspects in the theft are two white males.

Within the past week there have been multiple burglaries to businesses in Decatur and Forsyth. We believe the cases are related due to the suspects actions in the incidents. The suspect could also be responsible for burglaries in the Clinton area.
The suspect throws a large rock or brick through a door or window to gain access to the businesses. Once inside the business the suspect gathers jewelry and other valuable items before fleeing the area on foot.

Between 4/7/12 and 4/8/12, unknown subject(s) arrived at the Good Samaritan Inn, located at 920 N. Union and attempted to steal copper piping from the freezer compressor on the exterior of the building causing nearly $1,400 of damage and repairs.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week. This weeks crime of the week is in reference to two different thefts of purses.
On 3/27/12 and again on 3/30/12, Patrol Officers responded to Wal Mart, located at 4224 N. Prospect. Both victims had their purses stolen while either loading their groceries in their vehicles or returning their carts to the return station. The suspect scopes out the parking lot for females loading groceries or returning carts. The suspect will look for an open window and snatch the purse when the victim is least expecting it.
The suspect is described as a w/m, 30s, 508/165-170, shaved head with minor dark colored growth, medium complexion, minor facial hair, wearing a black sleeveless shirt and jean shorts baggy past his knees. The suspect was observed entering possibly a late 80s model SUV possibly a Chevy Blazer or Nissan Pathfinder with damage to the drivers side rear fender, with IL registration plate starting with either N71 or J71.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week. This weeks crime of the week is in reference to approximately 20 car windows shot out in the Ravina Park and Home Park Neighborhoods, causing a large dollar amount of damage.
On 2/24/12, Patrol Officers fielded 20 different complaints from citizens in these neighborhoods in reference to their car windows being shot out by what appears to be a BB Gun. There are no suspects at this time. A suspect vehicle may be a silver colored smaller hatchback or station wagon with a loud muffler.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week. This weeks crime of the week is in reference to an armed robbery that occurred at 2185 E. Wood, Apex Petroleum. The Decatur Police Department feels this armed robbery is in connection with armed robberies that occurred at Dollar General, 3797 E. Rt. 36 and Hucks, 3595 Larkdale Ct.
On February 16, 2012, at 3:03 AM, officers responded to Apex Petroleum, 2185 E. Wood in reference to an armed robbery. Once on scene, officers spoke to an employee who advised a b/m entered the store, shopped around for a short time, then approached the checkout counter and produced a dark colored handgun demanding all the money. The employee complied with the suspect and turned over US Currency. The suspect then fled the business w/b on Wood St.
The suspect is described as a b/m, 508/100, wearing a dark colored heavy hooded coat with fur around the hood. The coat also had the word Chicago on the front and back of the coat. The suspect was also wearing a fishermans hat and white rimmed sunglasses. The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this crime.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week. This weeks crime of the week is in reference to an attempted armed robbery that occurred at Dollar General, 3797 E Rt. 36 and an armed robbery at Hucks Convenient Store, 3595 Larkdale Ct. The Decatur Police Department feels that these two crimes are connected.
On February 7, 2012, at 8:58PM, officers responded to Dollar General, 3797 E. Rt. 36, in reference to an attempted armed robbery. Once on scene, officers spoke to an employee who advised she recognized two subjects acting strange outside the business when she was outside checking for carts in the parking lot. The employee advised a w/m entered the store just before the attempted robbery and bought a candy bar, the same candy bar bought before the last time they were robbed. The employee advised the w/m was acting strange and very nervous. The employee advised this made her nervous so she locked the doors to the business. The employee advised a short time later she noticed a b/m, armed with a black colored pistol, standing outside the doors pulling on them attempting to get in however he did not get in and fled the scene.
The employee described two subjects who may be connected with this crime. Suspect #1 is described as a w/m, stock build, eye glasses, reddish colored hair, unknown clothing, approximately 20-30 years old. Suspect #2 was described as a b/m, armed with a dark colored pistol, medium to average build, approximately 508/170, wearing a black coat with the hood up and fur around the hood, black colored ski mask covering his entire face, approx. 20-30 years old.
At 9:57PM, the same night, Officers responded to a hold up alarm located at Hucks, 3595 Larkdale Ct. Officers quickly obtained information from the employee that she had been robbed by a b/m armed with a black colored handgun. The suspect fled the scene towards Larkdale Subdivision and got away with US Currency.
The employee described the b/m as in his 20s, approximately 510 inches tall, average build, wearing a dark grayish colored hooded jacket with fur around the hood, a black colored full face ski mask, gloves and dark colored jeans. On February 5, 2012, officers responded to Parkway Church of the Nazarine, 2701 E. Fairies Parkway, in reference to an unchecked burglary. Upon arrival, Officers discovered window screens pried away from the windows on the south side where it is believed entry was made to the Church.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving a cold case murder that occurred in 2009.
On 6/22/09, officers responded to 1157 Cottage Hill in reference to a home invasion where the victim, Salisha Deberry, had been murdered.
A witness to this incident advised there were 4 to 5 young b/m suspects, all wearing dark colored clothing, all armed with firearms standing over Salisha as she lay on a couch in the living room. The witness advised the suspects were demanding money from her. The witness advised she recalled one of the b/ms was wearing a mask that had skulls all over it. This incident ultimately ended with the loss of Salisha Deberrys life.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week which is in reference to connecting cases.
On December 24th and again on December 31st officers responded to Wal-Mart, located at 4224 Prospect in reference to burglaries. Upon arrival officers spoke to loss prevention officers.
On both occasions video surveillance captures two suspects inside the business concealing multiple laptops and other electronic items in a shopping cart and also in a purse. The suspects leave the business without paying for the items.
Suspect one is described as a white female 20 to 25 years old, 504 120 pounds, dark brown hear, and wearing wire rim eye glasses. Suspect number 2 is described as a while male 20 to 30 years old 510 180 pounds and short dark brown hair. The suspect vehicle is described as a white later model import, possibly a Nissan Maxima.

On January 1st at 1:14PM, officers responded to an attempted robbery of a person on the north side of Decatur. The victim advised she told the w/m she did not have her purse at which time the w/m knocked a bag of groceries out of her hand and ran away from the scene.
A witness advised the suspect entered an early 90s tan in color Buick Regal with partial license plate N92. The witness advised the suspects vehicle had a dent near the gas fill door. On November 25th at 12:58 pm officers responded to the 700 block of N. Van Dyke St. in reference to a vehicle crash involving a person on a bicycle. When officers arrived on scene they learned an 11 year old boy had been struck by a vehicle and injured, while riding his bicycle. The vehicle that struck this boy left the scene and did not return.
The vehicle is described as a green or black colored possibly Toyota Camry with license plates starting with an L and ending with a 4. The vehicle may also have front end damage. The driver of this vehicle was described as a mixed male, late teens. There was also a w/f in the front passenger seat and a w/m in the back seat. The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week.
On November 25th at 11:30 pm officers responded to a location in Decatur in reference to a previous attempted robbery of a person that occurred in the parking lot in front of the employment office at 757 W. Pershing Rd.
The victim was working at the time, cleaning up trash in the parking lot of this complex when he was approached by a w/m asking him for money. When the victim told him he did not have money a second w/m appeared from the west side of the building running at the victim. The victim advised when he turned to look at the subject running at him the first subject grabbed hold of his arm. The victim advised he pushed the first w/m away from him, striking him with his fist. The victim advised he then used his garbage picker and struck the second subject, which ended the situation with both suspects running towards Pershing Rd.
Both suspects were described as w/ms, 18-20, #1 was approx. 603 wearing black pants and black boots. #2 was approx. 510 wearing all black. The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this crime.

On 11/16/11 at 8:00 AM, officers responded to Image Health and Fitness, located at 2003 N. 22nd St. in reference to a previous burglary. Upon arrival, officers observed the glass to the west side door was shattered and entry was gained through this door.
The suspect entered the business through the west door and removed numerous muscle milk drinks, 5 hour energy shots and 8 rubber coated dumbells.
Security video shows the suspect entering the business at approximately 01:27 AM. The suspect is described as an unknown race male, aprroximately 510 inches tall, 190-205 pounds wearing an all gray hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants. The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week.
On September 9th officers were detailed to the Dollar General Store, located at 3797 East Rt. 36 in reference to a robbery. Upon arrival officers spoke with store employees who advised at approx. 8:30pm an unknown male subject entered the business. He walked to the checkout counter area, picked up a candy bar and then handed the cashier money to pay for the candy bar. When the store employee opened the register to get the suspect his change, he quickly lunged over the counter and tried to remove the cash drawer. The store employee tried to stop the suspect but was unsuccessful. The suspect fled the business in an unknown direction with the cash drawer. We need your help in solving this crime.
The suspect was described as a b/m in his late 20s to early 30s. He was approx. 5ft 3inches tall and weighed 115 pounds. He was wearing a red sweatshirt, dark colored pants and a red & blue baseball hat.

On August 4th at approx. 11:20pm Caleb Witty and his sister were walking home when they reached the 2200 hundred block of E. Johns St. They were approached from behind by 2 unknown b/ms. One of the b/m suspects displayed a handgun and demanded money from Caleb and his sister. Caleb stated that they did not have any money so the b/m struck Caleb in the head. Calebs sister ran for help and heard several gunshots as she fled the area. Caleb was fatally wounded and found in the 2200 block of E. Johns Street. We need your help in solving this crime.
The 1st suspect was described as b/m, approx. 6ft tall and weighed 150lbs. He was wearing a black shirt, jeans and possibly had a gap in his front teeth. The 2nd suspect was described as a b/m approx. 6ft tall weighing 200 lbs. He was wearing jeans and a black shirt.

On July 31st officers were detailed to Jimmy Johns, located at 2950 N. Water Street in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival officers spoke with store employees that advised at approx. 10:00pm 2 b/ms entered the business wearing facial coverings. Both b/ms advised the store employees that they had guns and would shoot them if they didnt cooperate. The store employees were forced to open the cash registers and business safe. The suspects removed the money and then fled the business, running eastbound towards Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. We need your help in solving this crime.
The 1st suspect was described as a b/m, approx. 6ft tall with an athletic build. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with a black mask. The 2nd suspect was described as a b/m approx. 6ft tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a white shirt, black shorts and had a blue shirt covering his face.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week.
On July 21st officers were detailed to a residence in the 300 block of west Harrison Avenue in reference to a home invasion. The victim stated that at approx. 10:30pm he was leaving his residence when 2 unknown subjects wearing facial coverings approached him. Both subjects displayed handguns and forced the victim back into his residence. One of the suspects then struck the victim in the head with a handgun and demanded all of his money. After taking all of the victims currency, both suspects fled the scene running eastbound on Harrison Ave. We need your help in solving this crime.
The 1st suspect was described as b/m, approx. 6ft tall and weighing 180lbs. He was wearing a red & yellow shirt and blue jeans. The 2nd suspect was described as a b/m approx. 6ft tall with a medium build. He was wearing all dark clothing.

On July 2nd officers responded to an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Decatur Westside Church of the Nazarene, located at 1224 W. Grand. The victims advised that they were outside doing lawn maintenance when an unknown subject approached them. The victims advised this subject displayed a small, black handgun and pointed it at one of them. The suspect then demanded all of the victims money. The suspect made off with multiple tools, cell phones and U.S. currency before fleeing the scene running westbound.
The suspect was described as a medium-skinned b/m in his 20s. He was approx. 6ft tall, weighed 250lbs and was wearing a white t-shirt and dark colored shorts. We need your help in solving this crime.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week.
On June 7th officers were detailed to an address in the 1600 block of north Monroe Street in reference to a Theft of a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival officers discovered that a black 1999 Chevy Cavalier had been stolen. The owner advised police that the vehicle did not run and wouldve had to been towed away. On June 8th officers were detailed to the 100 block of north Witt Street in reference to a gold 1998 Dodge Stratus being stolen. The owner advised police the Stratus did not run and could not have been driven away. Lastly, on June 16th officers were detailed to the 1800 block of Richmond Ct in reference to a red 1995 Ford Mustang being stolen. The owner advised police that the Mustang was not in running condition.
At this time it is unknown whom the suspect or suspects are that were involved in stealing these vehicles. We need your help in solving this crime.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week.
On June 9th officers were detailed to the Tobacco Shack, located at 1237 E. Eldorado Street, in reference to an armed robbery. At approx. 8pm the victim was leaving the Tobacco Shack when he was approached by 2 b/ms in the parking lot. One of them displayed a silver handgun and demanded the victims money. The 2nd b/m removed several items from the victims pocket including cigarettes, a cell phone and U.S. Currency. After taking the items, both suspects ran southbound from the parking lot. We need your help in solving this crime.
Witnesses described the 1st suspect as a b/m approx. 62 with a thin build. He was wearing a white tank top, black pants and wore his hair in braids. This suspect was also armed with the silver handgun. The 2nd suspect was described as a b/m approx. 510 with a medium build. He wore a black t-shirt and dark colored pants. Both suspects appeared to be in their 20s.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this weeks crime of the week.
On June 23rd 2010 officers made contact with the owner of Debbies Dance Studio, located at 2828 N. Main Street. The owner advised officers that several business checks had been stolen from the business and were being cashed.
During the investigation over the past few months detectives have discovered that multiple checks have been cashed, totaling several thousands of dollars. Detectives were able to obtain surveillance footage of the suspect who was cashing the stolen checks. The surveillance footage shows the same suspect on different occasions using a fake ID to cash the stolen checks. We need your help in solving this crime.
The suspect is a w/m in his late 20s to early 30s. He is approx. 5ft 10inches tall and weighs 200lbs. The suspect also wears glasses.
